Professional Experience
Dr. Park-Adams works with adults, couples, and families who are struggling with relationship concerns, emotional stress, and life transitions. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck—caught in difficult relationship patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety or mood changes, or uncertain about how to move forward. Dr. Park-Adams provides a thoughtful, supportive space to better understand these challenges and to work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Her work is informed by post-graduate training at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington, D.C. Using a family systems perspective, she helps clients see how emotional patterns develop within important relationships at work, in families, and in romantic partnerships. This approach allows therapy to focus not only on symptoms, but also on the underlying dynamics that keep problems going.
Before opening her private practice, Dr. Park-Adams worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, day treatment programs, and college counseling centers. She has supported clients dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, social anxiety, parenting challenges, work or academic performance concerns, major life transitions, and multicultural or cross-cultural stressors.
Dr. Park-Adams’ approach to therapy is collaborative, goal-focused, and practical. She works closely with clients to clarify what they want to change, understand long-standing patterns, and develop tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and function more effectively in daily life. Clients often appreciate her calm, direct style and her ability to balance insight with concrete guidance.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Park-Adams has taught college-level psychology courses and provided clinical supervision to psychologists in training and other mental health professionals. She has also presented workshops on stress management, anxiety management, and related topics.
